Github repository for Non-linear excitation image analysis (digital pathology)
published, September 2025 This is the repository of the IN2SIGHT (GA.964481) project WP4 (“In-vivo validation of IN2SIGHT”). It contains, at August 2025, two major jupiter codes. Both files assume that the input data have been obtained by applying QuPath (ver: QuPath-0.5.1) to the image to be classified. We first use Code_HE to build the Binary Features Vectors (BFV) for as many cell types as possible gthat can be found in the tissue. Then, we use the QuPath segmentation tool on a non-linear excitation image and apply Code_NLM to the QuPAth output giving in input also the set of BFV for …
New Publication: Implantable Optics for Advanced In Vivo Imaging
We’re thrilled to share a major milestone from the In2Sight project! A new open-access article has just been published in the Journal of Visualized Experiments (JoVE), showcasing a cutting-edge protocol for fabricating implantable imaging devices designed to revolutionize in vivo microscopy. The video presenation explore the various stages of the development of the In2Sight technioclogy. Title: Microfabrication of Implantable Optics Integrated in a Microstructured Imaging Window for Advanced In Vivo Imaging. New data set on test of microlenses in vitro and in vivo, published on Board platform.
In October 2025, the Consortium has published a wide (88 GB) of data on the validation of the use of the IN2SIGHT microlenses for in vitro and in vivo studies. The data set is stored on the Mendeley platform of the University of Milano-Bicocca. The full citation of the dataset is: Chirico, Giuseppe; Sironi, Laura; Marini, Mario (2025), “IN2SIGHT_2023_Data_Microlens-testing”, Bicocca Open Archive Research Data, V2, doi: 10.17632/dv6gpjcbyw.2. It can be accessed at the following link: https://board.unimib.it/datasets/dv6gpjcbyw/2 The dataset is curated and annotated to provide to external users the whole set of validation data for the in-vivo imaging technology. It contains …

Happy new 2025, a new publication from In2Sight
The publication “A 3D millifluidic model of a dermal perivascular microenvironment on a chip”, by Chiara Martinelli et al., appeared on 6th January 2025 on “Lab on a chip” is the result of a collaboration between polimi and unimib teams of the In2Sight project. Dermal perivascular microenvironment on a chip. The model of the skin is experimentally reproduced in vitro within the miniaturizedoptically accessible bioreactor’s (MOAB), carrying the microstructures used in the In2Sight technology. All details at the publisher link. …
End-of-2024 publication from In2Sight
A publication just appeared on Optics Express as a result of the research ongoing at the Polimi and UNIMIB groups. High dioptric power micro-lenses fabricated by two-photon polymerization. Behjat S. Kariman, Alessandra Nardini, Mario Marini, Pablo Roldán-Varona, Claudio Conci, Manuela T. Raimondi, Roberto Osellame, Giulio Cerullo, Giuseppe Chirico, and Rebeca Martínez Vázquez. Opt. Express 32(27), 48114-48131 (2024) We design, fabricate, and test a single micro-optical element with high dioptric power and high NA (up to 1.25 in water). The dioptric power and magnification of the microlenses were quantified over a 200 × 200 µm aberration-free field of view. Our results indicate that these …
